Copenhagen Wheel – smarter biking

Okay, I seriously want one of these. Copenhagen has always been in the front of the pack regarding urban bicycling. They were one of the first cities to create bike share programs with their distinctive yellow bikes zipping around the city, and they have often been used as a springboard for bike share programs, even the recent NYC installations of many, many Citi Bikes. http://citibikenyc.com/

This could seriously change urban biking….using the “wheel” as a data collections, data share, locking mechanism, electric assist hub, social share port all tied to your smart phone. Very cool stuff. When can we have an Albany Wheel?
