{"id":1468,"date":"2019-03-27T17:24:09","date_gmt":"2019-03-27T17:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2bgreener.com\/?p=1468"},"modified":"2019-03-28T01:15:19","modified_gmt":"2019-03-28T01:15:19","slug":"we-as-nature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/2bgreener.com\/?p=1468","title":{"rendered":"we, as Nature"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">I find it sad, and wasteful, and hurtful<br>That \u201cman\u201d is separate from \u201cnature\u201d<br>That we build to \u201ckeep us safe\u201d from her<br>That we \u201cbattle\u201d climate change<br>That we throw things \u201caway\u201d,\u00a0<br>thinking that that place is anywhere other than here, <br>where we are, when it is in truth on\/in\/of our home.<br><br>I find a revelation in reading<br>That this used to not be<br>This \u201cwe\u201d, and \u201cother\u201d,<br>Existence of apartness, not a part of:<br>Separate, mistrustful, and abusing.<br>We used to be nature, and work with the soil, and the wind, <br>and the sun as we perceived it moving across our shared sky.<br><br>Making something \u201cother\u201d diminishes it<br>Makes it cheap, unworthy, unsophisticated<br>Makes it usable<br>Makes it a righteous thing to profit from it<br>Makes it okay to subjugate it, fight it, fear it, toss it, <br>rape it, <br>and confine it,<br>Even while we still see the sun moving, nurturing our home, <br>we think that measuring its path makes it ours.<br><br>We even label cultures and sexes to lessen them.<br>The female and the indigenous are cycle-based, of nature,<br>(as are beasts, insects, plants, microbes...)<br>\u201csimple\u201d, uncultured, incapable,<br>Begging to be controlled, \u201cunsophisticated\u201d<br>We allow <strong>us<\/strong> to devalue <strong>them<\/strong>,<br>Control them, and profit from their work<br>With no guilt, no understanding of mutual interdependent needs <br>and\u00a0gains that make us all imperative, contributing elements <br>of our shared Nature of being.<br><br>Is it science that is at fault?\u00a0<br>Or man\u2019s hateful use of it?<br>Francis Bacon said \u201cscience should as it were torture <br>nature\u2019s secrets out of her\u201d<br>When real scientific curiously can engage with Nature to <br>teach us her wisdom.<br><br>Is it religion?<br>Giving us dominion over the earth?<br>So many say that we are in god\u2019s image and the world is <br>for us to enjoy (aka \u201cuse up\u201d)<br>When religion also teaches us to love one another and to be <br>stewards of each other and all creation.<br><br>I know we are moving through chaos and anger and apartness<br>To clarity of purpose and connection of systems.<br>We are here, now, in this present to<br><br><b>Change<\/b><br><br>Change \u201cnature\u201d to Nature, revered and of us<br>Change \u201caway\u201d to a non-existence, achieving truth<br>Change \u201cunsophisticated\u201d to unfettered and limitless<br>Change \u201cuncultured\u201d to innate, earned wisdom, valuable for us all<br>Change \u201cbattle\u201d to a quest for understanding so we may work <br>with systems and the current shifts in them.<br><br>Change -
